holistic care for your whole self

There are so many options out there - so many new techniques, gadgets, supplements, teachers offering a solution. We live in an abundant cornucopia. So much potential. I’ve tried many approaches and continue to practice a few that have had the most impact on me.

Mind you, I tend to like simple, straightforward, low-tech things. And I don’t mind weird.

The following is what I have personally tried and wholeheartedly endorse.

Move

  • Yoga - find what feels good

  • 5 Rhythms

  • The work of Kate Shela

  • Walk, sit, breathe in nature near you

  • Turn on music. Dance. Let your body move any way it wants to. Let is say what it feels.

Meditate

  • Vipassana meditation

  • Insight meditation (find a local center or use the app)

  • Meditations by Dr. Joe Dispenza

  • Kundalini Yoga (includes meditation, movement and mantra, too). Check out Kia Miller, Nine Treasures or Tej TV.

Breathe

  • Calm: breathe in to count of 10, breathe out to count of 10. Repeat.

  • Energize: breath of fire. Rapid, even breaths in and out.

Eat-Drink

  • Lots of clean, spring water.

  • Long-infused (decoctions) of nettle, oatstraw, linden and alfalfa for a deeply nourishing drink.

  • Eat what your body asks for. If you listen, you won’t eat the whole bag.
